weather has been crazy...

Yesterday was sweltering, and we spent the day out on the deck. It was too hot to go into the yard in the sun. I moved the trampoline (Eli found at the tip) onto the top deck so the kids could still play. Kai loves just laying on it and looking up.
He spent his nap/quiet time yesterday reading in there... I'll take the quiet time where I can.
Last week was pretty cold. I was almost ready to get the winter clothes out of storage... but it's hot again today, so I will wait a while.
Eli is getting started on the downstairs floor today. I am looking forward to seeing how the new oak floors look down there.

us

So seldom do we get a good pic of all of us together.

the local park...

took the kids down to the park. It's in the local school and they had fun. Liam is a bit cranky, I think he is still teething. We are still pretty much on track with the sleep routine, although we are slipping with the strict rules a little. I think it's natural that we would adapt the system to suit us. But as long as we stay strong over the next few weeks I think we should be right.

we were in a movie today...

We all left early this morning to meet with film crew in Melbourne this morning. Mum's work is producing an English Language movie and she asked if we would mind playing a small role in the film. It was pretty fun, and quick, which was great for the kids. Kai, Eli and I had to sit at a small table and order from the waiter. I had a few lines. The funniest thing was every time the director said "Action" Kai would look straight into the camera, or call out "that man just said Action". Not sure if they got any real usable takes, but it will be great if we have that to show Kaisy one day. We also got a gift voucher for Myers. I got my make-up done, which felt pretty spesh!

our adventure at sleep school

So we have returned a new and (sleep) improved family. We spent 4 days and 3 nights at Tweddle, the amazing sleep school in Fitzroy, Melbourne. I must admit it took me some convincing to go, I guess I felt that I had pretty much chosen the co-sleeping path and I was stuck with it through the good times and the bad. So now I am totally converted and amazed at this new found freedom. I can read, snuggle, laze, get up, get back down, sip a tea, read again in bed... what luxury. The boys are in their own beds and it seems as though every day it is getting easier to put them down. Anyway it was four days of total sleep deprivation but with the help of the wonderful staff and other families we made it. Nigh Nigh, sleep tight...
